Does anybody have a good place to get a replacement engine for an 02 Camry? 2.4 4 cyl. My belt broke tonight and I thought I could make it home. No such luck. Jasper engines list theirs at $4400. Ouch. Thanks for any help.

 

Valves don't touch on this motor. What r u talkin about?

 

No belt means no waterpump and no cooling....overheat big time.

 

i thought if the belt breaks everything just comes to a halt. i thought it was a non interference engine...i could be wrong.

 

As tim96460 said, this is a non-interference engine. If belt breaks engine stops, so no over heat as engine stalls and no damage to internal components etc. Gates has a web site that will give belt info and say whether or not your engine is interference or not. The sites a little confusing but if the cam/drive belt section does not say "interference" then engine is not.
