Default Light on left side of dash won't go off.

There is an amber warning light on the far left side of the dash on my 95 Camry. The manual says it indicates a problem with the tail lights. I have checked tail lights, brake lights, back up lights, turn signals and license plate lights. Everything is working but the light on the dash just won't go off. I wish there was a way I could just disconnect the warning light, any ideas ? Thanks !

Does the light have a representation of the rear of a car with lines portraying light beams?

The warning light is for brake and tail lights only.

The light can come on for reasons other then a burned out bulb filament. These being a bulb filament or bulb/socket having increased electrical resistance.

Best advice is to change the lower brake and all taillight bulbs. When changing bulbs inspect each bulb sockets electrical terminals for signs of corrosion, etc and if needed clean them.

Yes I think you have described the light that is on my dash. The only other time it came on was a year or so ago. That time I had a tail light out, replaced the bulb and the dash light went out. Thanks for your suggestion, I may have to do it.

Problem solved ! I finally realized I overlooked the upper brake light in the back window. Replaced the bulb and the light on the dash went out.
