Default Loss of power and whistling sound?

Hello,

loss of power and a whistling sound when I try to accelerate. Started on the highway tonight and I barely made it home.....almost full throttle going 20mps.

I'm thinking vacuum leak of some kind?

Open hood and attempt to find location of noise. Can use a section of rubber hose as a stethoscope to narrow down noise area.

One place to check is the large air tube going from air cleaner to engine throttle body (has throttle cable attached to a pulley). Is it possible for the hose to crack completely around tube but not be visually obvious.

If you suspect a vacuum leak, you can spray a little WD40 around the hoses, etc. The spray will get sucked into the engine and the idle will change. Don't go crazy though. I've heard of people using starting fluid as well but I would stay away from that option as it is so flammable.
