Default NEED HELP! 2005 Camry XLE

I recently inherited a 2005 Camry XLE with only 18,000 miles (I love this car). I need help in determining why the sound when locking the doors no longer works. The lights flash, the doors lock but no sound. I called a Toyota Dealership and they said it sounded like it needed to be reprogrammed. So I took my car into the dealership (thinking this was something they would just sort of do, not a big deal but I was wrong) they said it would cost $53 to reprogram the key fob. Is there a way to do this without taking it to the dealership? All help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

you got a great car and it'll last you 10 - 15 yrs.

$53 is the cheapest any shop can do anything, so pay it and
start your business relationship with the dealer.
