Default Newbie owner 2007 Camry. Problems

I just bought a 2007 Camry in really good shape and only 40k miles and was pretty thrilled. Now I'm seeing problems about head bolts getting stripped does this apply to this year? How common is this problem like 5%, 50%, 100% of cars???

Also seeing issues with excessive oil consuption any info on that?

How worried should I be about my new to me car?

Thanks!

sounds like you don't have any problems, only reading internet reports of problems. Is this right?

had friend w/ your model for 5 yrs. troublefree. he loved the car.

Toyota has never issued statistics on either of these issues.

The oil problem can start around your miles. Appears to be something to do with the oil control ring sticking in the piston groove. There is service bulletin out that covers repairs for cars still under warranty.

The head bolt issue seems to show up around 70K but just a guess. Watch for disappearing coolant in the overflow tank.

If you engine will have problems, don't know.

Might review posts at the Toyotanation website. Perhaps there is something one can do to help stave off the oil consumption issue such as synthetic oil, but only a guess.

Yes no problems so far butI've only driven it 100 miles. I was planning on keeping car until it was worn out so I'm kind of concerned about these problems. Hopefully it a small percentage of cars.

Thanks for the info on when the problems tend to show up. I have looked around the toyotanation site some and will look some more there. Thanks!
