Default Newbie seeking advice

Hey guys. Just bought a Camry and reg'd here. Its a 97 with 92k on it, the LE trim, 2.2L Automatic. It runs great, but I have a couple questions. The trans seems to shift pretty smooth, doesnt have the super hard kick my honda accord has when it shifts. What brand of trans fluid have you guys had the best luck with? And I noticed the plug wires were pretty thin in diameter. Not sure if they are factory. What kinda plugs/wires do you guys like in your cars? Also, I was wondering if Mobil 1 would be a good choice for oil. I also wonder if you have to take it to the dealer to program a new keyless remote. This is my first Toyota, my other driver is an F150. So, any advice is appreciated. Good to be here!!

The trans was designed for Dexron III but this has been discontinued. Replaced by "AFT Fluid" at the bottle reads. Check the label to make sure it is a replacement for Dexron III.

Some owners have used other types of trans fluids but suggest you stick with what Toyota used in the first place.

Factory wires would have the built in spark plug boot and cap. You can check them using an ohm meter, should have no more then 25K ohms per wire. Suggest sticking with stock wiring.

The original plugs were Denso or NGK platinum type.

Which remote system do you have. If RS3000 find the remote control box. Turn ign key to ON and press and hold the programming switch on the box for 3 seconds.

The status monitor light on the keyless remote should turn on for 5 seconds.

Press and hold a button on the keyless remote. The status monitor light should turn off, the chirper chirp once and the lights flash.

Turn off the ign key.

All of the above needs to completed within 5 seconds or releasing the button on the ECU control box.

Box should located under the drivers seat.
