OBD II port question

I have a 1998 Toyota Camry (4-cylinder).

Can anyone tell me what data is in the OBD II diagnostic port?

the list of toyota camry fault codes

obd2 codes are read as PO xxxx

the diagnostic port is wired to the ecu
when the engine check light is on there are fault codes stored in the ecu to be read

using a scanner tool the fault codes can be retrieved
