Default Power window

I have a 2000 Camry XLE and the right rear power window will not work. So far i have:
1. Removed the RR panel and checked the voltage going to motor. The voltage with the switch in the "up" position is 12.1V, however, the voltage in the "down" position is only 0.5.
2. I took the switch off the Driver's rear door and did a voltage check, and same thing 12.1V in "up" and 0.5 in "down".
3. Then took a voltage reading from the driver's control switch. got 0 on both counts.
Why is there no voltage or low voltage from the "down" position on the RR window only?

I went to a local junk yard and tried a used driver's control switch, and when i did, it blew the pink under dash 30 amp fuse for all windows and power roof.

can anyone help me?

Thanks.

Mel

Default RE: Power window

Does the window work with either passenger or driver switch?

The window up and down motion works by reversing the voltage polarity to the motor. Check the votage between the Red and Green wires at the motor. The polarity should change when the switch is moved in the other direction.

The Red and Green wires carry power from the drivers switch to the motor bypassing the local switch.

The Purple wire carries power from the Power Relay to the local switch to allow it to work independent of the drivers switch. The local switch redirects the power from the Purple wire to either the Red or Green wire of the motor. The return wire to complete the circuit would be the opposite wire color.

Toyomoho,
thanks for the reply.
The window does NOT work at all with either switch. I removed the switch from the door behind the driver (thinking it was a bad switch) and still got the same Volt readings.
I even had bought a NEW motor and regulator. When i hooked the new motor up it did got UP, not down. I then hooked up motor to switch behind driver and it went both UP and DOWN.
When i checked the voltage at the motor, with switch UP it's 12.1v, down 0.5 (should also be 12.1V).
The driver's main window switch works, EXCEPT For the RR window. it's driving me crazy!!
I'm not seeing the PURPLE wire. there is a RED and GREEN from window switch to motor.

Thanks.

Default RE: Power window

You hooked up a new motor to the switch behind the driver and it worked OK.

The drivers side console can control all windows expect for the right rear.

Neither drivers or passengers right rear switch work for the right rear window.

Is all above correct?

Suggest the following:

The wirings running between the drivers door and chassis can break over time due to constant door usage. It is possible a wire is damaged inside the harness.

Bypass the RR switch completely. Connect the Red wire to the Red motor wire and do the same for the Green wire. The motor should then be controlled by drivers switch. If the motor is OK but does not work the issue is in the drivers switch or wiring to it.

Are you sure there is not a purple wiring going to the RR control switch. It would not go to the motor but the switch. Make sure this wire has power when the ign switch is on.
