Default Quick half-axle replacement question

I'm getting ready to swap out the half axles of a 1997 Camry (2.2 liter). When I remove them, I understand from others' instructions that some fluid will drain out. Is this fluid from the transmission or from the differential?

I want to make sure I have all of the tools necessary before starting this job. Thanks.
