It is supposed to change the shiftpoints and give it a sportier feel. Acronym for Electronically Controlled Transmission. I had that button in my '96 and my brother's '92 neither of us could tell a difference. There used to be a kit on the internet that made that a jeckyl/hyde button, but it was intended for a beefed up motor.

i have a 94 and i have that button. it makes you feel like you're goin faster even though you may not be. it does give it a lil bit of "get up and go" tho =) RPM goes up faster.

Power mode basically delays upshift allowing the engine to rev higher in each gear. It also allows the transmission to downshift to a lower gear without having to floor the accellerater - such as when passing another vehicle. Econ mode does the exact opposite allowing the transmission to shift earlier thus keeping engine RPM lower making it more ECONomical with fuel.
