Sunroof leak issue and how to resolve
I have a 2016 that has bought with 28k on it. It was owned by an elderly woman, so I doubt she ever used the sunroof. After a rain shower, I noticed the floor was wet along the running board of the passenger side. I took it to Toyota and they supposedly cleared the drain tubes. The next rain and it did the same thing again. I took it back to Toyota and they said the sunroof is not completely closing and that’s where water is getting in. They said the track is messed up or something along those lines. They quoted me over $3k to completely replace. My question is, if the drain tubes are clear, how is water still making it to the floorboard? Nothing else is wet except the floorboard right next to the running board right in front of the right front corner of the passenger seat. I will never use the sunroof. I thought perhaps I could use a few wedges and place them between the roof and sunroof to press it more firmly against the weather stripping on the sunroof and just remove the fuse so it can never be opened accidentally. I find it hard to believe that a car with 28k on it has a malfunctioning sunroof already. It appears to be firmly closed. I refuse to believe the only answer is $3k and a new sunroof. Thanks for any input.
Is the sunroof completely closing? You should be able to determine this. The door should be fully up as in now parallel with the roof line.
What is the condition of the roof seals? Any debris in the roof track area.
The 4 drain hoses each go down one of the front and rear roof pillars.
Check if there is a rubber filler plug missing on the floorboard under the rug area of the wet floor.

I'd do everything Joey suggested and if water still persists, then it is time to trace the drain line.
Some people can get over zealous when it comes to cleaning out those lines and use compressed air from an air compressor. This blast of air can overload the little drain hose and it can get disconnected somewhere along the line.
I hope this isn't the case as it can be involved and invasive to trace, like moulding removed, etc.

I finally just took two little blocks of wood and wedged them inside in each corner to compress the window to the weatherstripping. Then I took silicone and put a very light layer all the way around the outside and smooth it out ceiling, the sunroof permanently, and then I removed the fuse. My mother said she would never use the sunroof anyways, she?s 80 years old. But we haven?t had any leaks since then. Thanks for y?all?s input though.
