Default Synthetic vs. Conventional

I'm sure there will be a lot of different opinions on this but I just wanted to say that my choice of using Synthetic oil after 150k ruined my car. I won't be using Synthetic oil on old engines or engines with high mileage unless it was used from the begining.

I use Castrol "Extended life" oil 5w-30W on mine...has always done well!!

I too have been scared of going "synthetic" with as many miles as I have at 280K on my 93 Camry....
