Default Which Temperature Sensor? - Gen1 - 85

Oil change guy broke wire to one of the 3 temperature sensors. (I wish I could post a pic.) It is the forward one on the coolant manifold just under the distributor. Wire broken off that sensor... there is nylon inline connector. It does not have a shoe connector.

I want them to pay for the right one... but can not fig out which one it is.

Thanks.

Does the temp gauge on the dash work?

How many wires to the sensor and what colors?

It has one single brown wire and the dash gauge is fine. Good questions.

I found the answer late yesterday. It is the temperature sensor for the automatic transmission. Yep. Who knew the automatic transmission on a 27 year old car need to know what the temperature of radiator water coolant.

Thanks!
