There is approximately 2 quarts of fluid in the trans oil pan. The rest of the fluid remains in the torque converter.

If you have the money, change ALL of the fluid out at once. Dirty and worn out fluid is the main cause of trans failure.

Lots of thoughts with this, is the fluid really dirty or burned smelling or even very dark in color ? I have heard that a full fluid change can even introduce problems. A simple drain and change of the filter is very easy if you are a do it yourself type. There are a number of web videos out there that walk you through it. I just did my old 96 Camry V6 and it took about and hour. If you aren't having issues with shifting and so forth and if the fluid looks good on the dipstick then I would only monitor it's level and keep driving. But that's just my 2 cents. Good Luck

1 litre = 1.056 quart
