Default Trans service on a 98 Camry 2.2l

Hi again folks...

just curious if there might be anything I should
watch out for, when performing a trans filter and
fluid change?

Any particular hang-ups, pitfalls, etc. on this at all??

Again, many thanks in advance!!!!!!
Sincerely, Bob Z.

Determine if the pan uses a hard gasket or form a gasket sealant. Toyota changed form hard to sealant some time along the way.

Clean pan and magnets at bottom of pan. Filter is a screen material the seldom needs cleaning.

Don't over tighten the pan bolts or the pan and gasket will be distorted.

Be sure to change the differential fluid in the diff housing. Make sure you can unloosen the filler port on the side (can freeze up) before draining the fluid out the bottom.

A trans pan drain removes a few quarts, the rest is in the torque converter. To get this out need to do a "flush." Which you can do yourself. Check past posts on how.

Hey toyomoho,

wanted to say a big "belated" thanx to you; for the
continued help/reply to my question on the trans service!!!!!

I checked out a video online, as I just wanted to go
over the draining/filling of the differential. I'm
comfortable with the trans/differential service-
just wanted a quick review...lol!

And so this brings me to my last question for ya......
in the video I watched, the guy had a big pump-top
bottle; in which he used to pump the trans fluid
back up/into the differential case after draining.

Now, should I try and get a bottle/pump like that;
OR could I use one of those little electric drill/pump
attachments for fluid transfer??!

Like this one here-
Heavy Duty Drill Powered Pump

Again, I appreciate ALL the help and info you provide
kind sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!

Sincerely, Bob Z.

Resistor is for the blower speed. Vent selection is a servo motor up under the drivers side of the dash.
