Default valve cover gasket

1999 v6 . doing the valve cover gaskets and im running into a problem getting the little round rings (spark plug gaskets) into the holes . any one know a special trick to get them in ? . yes the old one is completely removed . it will kind of sit in the hole but will not go all the way down .. again any help is greatly appreciated .

I assume you bought new ones. You'll notice that the rubber backing on the new ones is not compressedas it was in the old ones. This may be the reason that it looks like they're not seating properly but if factthere is no problem. Just torque them properly and they should seal just fine. You may find that over time, as the rubber compresses, you will need to re-torque them.
