Default VIN does not match trim

I just got a 2013 Camry SE. The vehicle is SE but the VIN lookup returns LE. Also, the dealer advertising and stickers on the car were LE instead of SE. Is this normal?

A car dealer in Charlotte, NC is under investigation by the state attorney general for switching the trim and the charging more for the lower base model. I would call Toyota and confirm with them, you will run into issues if and when you sell the car. Save yourself future headaches now and get it straightened out now while you still can. If you wait it will be a real hassle to straighten out and could cost you a chunk of change.

What criteria are you using to state the car is an SE and not a LE as the sticker and VIN state?

I've seen and driven the car. Actually I own it now. It is SE. It has SE at the back, paddle shifters, leather trim seats, fog lights etc and everything else that comes with SE. However, the VIN check returns LE. The paperwork also says LE. I told the dealer about it, and during the title paperwork they tried to correct the trim to SE. So the temporary MVA Registration permit I have now shows SE, but all other paperwork prior paperwork shows LE. I'm thinking the title will come as SE, but I'm going to call toyota about it today before it's too late.

I called Toyota and they confirmed that VIN is SE, so it was mistake the dealer made in labelling the car. The mistake also appears on the vin decoder site I used (VIN decoder is the best online tool to check vin number | VinDecoderz.com)

Glad that's settled.
I bet the insurance rates would have been better with LE trim though!
