Default Warranty/2008 Camry LE?

Hi we just purchased a used 2008 Camry LE with 34K miles. It's certified and comes with 12/12K mile bumper to bumper and is covered until 12/2014 for the remaining of Power Train.

This is our first Camry and was wandering if we need an extended warranty? We have 5 year financing on it?

If I was to acquire an extended warranty where do you suggest? Through Toyota or 3rd party like Car Chex?

The almost universal opinion among Toyota owners is to only consider a Toyota extended warranty.

The plans length varies and mileage varies. Dealers set their own prices, shopping around can save big dollars. You can buy a warranty from any dealer in the US.

The internet is full of dealers selling warranties.

As to getting an extended warranty, suggest you review posts on extended warranties at this site and the Toyotanation website as the issues you bring up have been discussed many times. Sometimes posts includes what they paid and whom the dealer was.

In the past would have stated extended warranties were a waste of money but not so today as Toyota lowered their quality standards. Today would most likely shop around for prices and compare this to how much more warranty period was gained ending up with some kind of cost per year for the extended warranty. If a couple of hundred dollars per year most likely would buy a plan.

Would only buy a plan if it was deeply discounted which is possible if one shops around.
