Default P0101 error message---HELP!!

Hello,

I have 2011 Camry SE. It only has 5k miles on it. Recently, I replaced stock air intake with aftermarket Takeda air intake. For awhile, it didn't get any error messages, now the engine light came on. I brought it to autozone to read the code and gave me P0101 msg. Btw, everything is plugged in just fine... I double checked...

Are there anyone having the same issue and solved it....? Please help me out here.. Thanks alot!!

This is a MAF sensor code.

The issue could be the aftermarket intake is doing something to the air flow. The result is the computer thinks something is wrong with the MAF sensor.

Try reinstalling the original intake.

Thanks for the advice but I've already reinstalled it and it got rid of the code.
But then I put the aftermarket model back in, then about 4 days later the engine light came back on. I don't know if I should return the product... Any ideas...?

If the code went away with the stock intake the issue is the non-stock intake.

The non-stock design may be changing the air flow quantity, pattern, etc and the MAF sensor is not calibrated to this new situation.

There may not be much you can do.

Thanks for your advice Joey. If anyone else has other suggestions before I return the intake, I'd be greatly appreciated.

Hi Everyone!

I have engine light on -- it said P101 - Mass Air Flow -- I bought a new MAF sensor from Advanced Auto Part store -- it seems worse a little. I cleaned the original and put it back. The engine light is back after few miles driving.
Any ideas .. ?? MAF sensor is bad and need a new original one or something else. I took off the connection and the engine is off .. the book said the MAF sensor is good.. Please help and any ideas will be appreciated.

Year of car and engine model?

Any other codes?

On some years a problem with the PCV system can cause the code.
If sure the MAF system is OK, check PCV system.

Camry 2007 CE

First only MAF ..later it requires Oxygen sensor as well

I cleaned MAF and put back .. nothing changed .. I bought a AZ auto store ..may have to return it ..

add fuel system cleaner .. fuel injector cleaner .. change air filter ...

Will check PCV system
