Default 1988 Camry - engine

Hello, picked up an '88 for $100 and was told all that was wrong was the transmission was out. Went to start it and nothing, popped the hood and noticed a good size hole in the top of the engine!!!

Regardless, the body is is good shape, interior good shape, and am currently looking for a replacement engine and transmission.

When I originally looked at reman engines I noticed some stated there were a variety of engines for the '88. If I remember correctly there is a difference in the number of bolts in the timing cover? Can anyone explain further and let me know which engine it is that I will need for mine?

Later tonight I'll post the specific number number under the hood, can't remember if it is a 3V or 3Z

Thanks and excited about tackling this project in the garage. Last engine replacement job was on my '97 Jeep Wrangler.
