1994 Camry Air Bag Light on Dash

Default 1994 Camry Air Bag Light on Dash

took steering wheel off to fix hi/low beam switch. when put back together the airbag light on the dash stays on. Any suggestions as to why and what I can do. Am an experienced mechanic in running gear, but not this stuff.

Assume you reconnected the wiring correctly to the airbag.

Did you turn on the ign key when the bag wiring was disconnected? If so the air bag computer will note the disconnected plug and set a trouble code. Reconnecting the plug will not reset the computer. This needs to be done manually.

Thanks, the ign key was not only turned on, but changed as well. So how does one reset the computer manually?

but....the battery was disconnected, so while the ign key was "turned to the on" position, there was not any juice to the system.

Takes 90 seconds for the airbag system to power down once the battery is disconnected.

V6 or 4 cylinder?
