2004 camry 4 cylinder multiple misfires

Car has multiple misfires and is running lean. When accelerating thw rpm's will jump up and down while having no power. Vehicle does not like higher speeds and gets worse if driven like that. Any ideas the cause?

Is the check engine light on? Any codes?

You say RPM jumps up and down and engine has no power? Is this there any way the trans might be involved as in slipping?
