Default Air Conditioner smell in 2007 model

Am satisfied with our 2007 Camry, except for the musty smell from using the air conditioner. I drove a 2003 Camry for 3 years before this, and NEVER ONCE smelled anything. Both cars were stored in a garage; they rarely were driven through dust. So why does the new car smell? I have noticed that the 2007 cabin air filter does not fit snugly on the left and right sides. This may be allowing dust to enter. Am hoping to find a better fitting filter. I plan to start doing my own maintenance soon. I look forward to both learn from and contribute to this forum.

Make check to determine if the drain pipe from the A/C evaporator pan is plugged up. Water condenses on the A/C evaporator, falls onto the tray and needs to drain out a hose at the bottom of the car.

There's been a lot of threads dealing with this issue over on Toyotanation.com under the Gen 6 Camry forums. I've had the same issue with mines and took it to the dealer as most people did and got this issue tkaen care of. They replaced my cabin air filter and the smell hasn't came back.
