I'm not sure if "new" is correct, but we are back as Camry owners, again.
Wifey got her Sub. Forester, aka the "whirrrrr-mobile" per me, and she loves it. We still have the '08 RAV4, 206k miles on it so far. We'll keep it as a 'hauler and puller for some while.

So, my mom got some sort of itch for a new car and sold us her '14 Camry LE with a whopping 19k miles on it. She bought.... a '17 Camry SE LOL!

Our prev. '09 XLE aka "the Cushy-mobile" was totaled in a hailstorm.
This '14 LE has just almost as many bells and whistles, and rides a good bight 'tighter' than the '09, and acceleration seems more brisk.
I think it is on its 3rd front end cap now. Dad was involved in 2 minor fender benders, and a big truck's disintegrating re-cap whacked me a month ago.
Otherwise, it is all stock. Other than a K&N air filter (SOP for me on all my vehicles) I don't know what else I really want to do to it.
Oh, the hub caps are , umm... not the most appealing to me, so... they'll either be swapped, or just maybe I'll find some take-off alloy wheels.

'81 Corolla (9 years of abuse heaped upon the toughest car ever),
'89 pickup (bought from dad in '97 and drove it until '03),
'09 Camry,
'14 Camry (present),
'08 AWD, V6 RAV4 Sport (206k and going strong still).

I have probably missed some.

P.S. Edited to add:
'10 Corolla S that was son's until hailstorm pounded it to near scrap. He drove it for another 4 months before shipping out to boot camp.
'14 Corolla my USAF son just bought from mom. It was dad's who passed on last year. Son loves it.

Those old Toyota's especially the pickups ran forever even when abused.

What have you noticed in changes to these vehicles over years.

How did the Forester sneak in?

 

RE the pickup, it was great, until things started wearing out. The radiator design was prone to leaks. I replaced it more than once, with both Toyota and a 'rebuilt' one. Parts were EXPENSIVE it seemed. I sold it with 160k miles as a 'roller, barely running' to a machinist friend for not much.

As with all manufs, as years go on, more and more bells and whistles are added as "factory standard" items. My parents had a couple Camrys in the early 2000s that, IMO, were "off" in their QC. Fit and finish were not up to prev. cars' standards. The later ones have improved.
Me, I'd love to have another '81 Corolla 2-door!

RE the Sub.; after a hailstorm totaled our '09 Camry XLE "cush-mobile", we needed a replacement vehicle. Wifey wanted a CUV-ish vehicle instead of a sedan. The Gen. 4 RAV4 was a mistake for Toyota IMO, but that's for another forum/topic or post. (Toyota has received an earful from this mechanical engineer!) Suffice it to say they were off the table, although we test drove several and *wanted* to like them. The Sub. Forester just seemed to 'catch' wifey's eye and affections. Whether it will hold up, we'll see.
