Default No back-up lights 95 Camry

Having troubleshooting having no back-up lights on our 95 Camry. Checked the blubs .. they are Ok. Even changed them just in case. Haynes schematic doesn't show a connection to the reverse lights. Thanks for any help.

My '93 with automatic has the same problem intermittently. I tracked it down to the switch mounted on the transaxle. If it's manual, the switch for the reverse lights is at the bottom of the shifter in the console. You may want to check it. I have a Hanes manual and it does show which connectors should have continuity for each gear position. The switch for the automatic is a pain to get to. You have to jack up the front and remove the splash guards just to get to it. To replace it, the new one has to be adjusted properly. With an automatic, if the "R" is not lighting up on the dashboard when the backup lights are not working, then it might be that switch.

In some models there is also a connector on the top left side of the transmission.
