Camry 2007: engine Nocking sound

Default Camry 2007: engine Nocking sound

I have been having nocking problems in the engine for 6 months, this is going more frecuently. I tried spark plugs, gasoline, aditives, oil change, etc., the computer doesnt show any message...

4 cyl or V6

how many miles /kms

what was said to you about that knocking at its last service

The engine is 4 cyl.
it has 90k miles

in the last service the technitian told me about to change the computer, but not sure.

the car runs excelent
good hp
smooth run

computer wont be the cause of the knock

not that high in km/ miles so doubt if it would be a bearings or piston problem

if it is the 2AZ-FE I4 4 cyl

vvt type engine timing chain and balance shaft

hard to say without hearing the knock

yes, the engine is 2.4L VVTi

At the beginning I eliminate the sound using premium fuel but today it isnt enough

The sound is higer when the temp is in the middle and I accelerate in the hwy.

Just to clarify
the sound is the commmon sound when the engine is out of time, but I know the vvti system should control it...

the valve timing sensor may be at fault

but if there are no fault codes

i suspect the VVTi drum
over time the drums can get clogged with sludge and not move smoothly though its range and back again

the fix is pulling unit apart and cleaning
