Default Considering a Diesel Delete ? Pros and Cons?

Hey everyone,

I've been researching ways to improve my truck's performance and fuel efficiency, and came across the term diesel delete. I understand it involves removing the diesel particulate filter (DPF) and other emissions components, but I'm unsure about the legal and mechanical implications.

How does a diesel delete affect engine longevity, warranty, and emissions compliance? Are there any noticeable gains in power or fuel economy that make it worth the risks?

I'd love to hear from anyone who has done a diesel delete or considered it and can share real-world experiences.

The engine should be OK without it.

The practice of removing DEF is not uncommon. Some disable the system but leave it on the vehicle.

It is still illegal under federal law. The Trump admiration has eased up on EPA enforcement.

States like California can be very aggressive in enforcing emission equipment removal.

It may be illegal for a vehicle repair shop to return a vehicle with a defeated DEF system. Thus, may have issues with repairs beyond DIY.

If democrats take control of DC in 2029 EPA enforcement will pick back up.
