Default Headlights

My headlights are very dim, they are really fogged up, however i have tried to clean them but with to no avail. i was wondering if i just replaced the bulbs to brighter ones, if that would work. it would definitely be cheaper than replacing the lenses themselves. any thoughts?

Some Toyota lens can be polished to clear them up other can't, depends on the design of the lens.

Do a google search on the year of car and cleaning/polishing the headlight lens. If your lens can be polished there are kits available containing all the required products.

If your thinking about brighter bulbs check the light color produced. Some bulbs produce a blue white light which you may not want and be illegal.

Tooth paste is a mild abrasive.

Again success depends on the head light lens. Newer Camry used lens that actually distributed the light. If you polish these lens you will change the light distribution.

You remove the headlight covers and then proceed to replace each johnson rod coupling.
