Default Will not run the car for long time, how often to star it? Any recommendation?

Hi,

I will not run the Camry for long time( several weeks to 3 months). In order to keep battery, brake and engineer is good condition, I think it needs to get it start and run several hundred meters each two weeks. If it too much? Any recommendation would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

What year of Camry?

Is this an ongoing condition? As in not operating the car for several weeks to 3 months then operating, then again not operating for a period of time?

Three months is not that long a time.

The battery will lose about 3% of its charge every month. You could install a trickle charger. Unless there is reason to NOT disconnect the battery, do so.

Change oil and replace with synthetic.

Ideally drive the car every few weeks letting the engine and transmission get up to normal operating temperature. Operate all systems.

If you can not drive the car on the road at least do the following say ever two weeks.

Start engine and let it warm up to operating temperature.

Operate the A/C system to get the compressor working for at least 15 minutes to lube the seals. The A/C system has Freon and a lubricant.

Move the car forward and back to get the trans and differential fluid moving. Apply brakes to prevent possible sticking parts from non-use.

Move the gear selector through all gears.

Operate all controls.

Turn steering wheel from lock to lock to lube parts.

Fill tank with gas. If you are going on 3 months if possible use ethanol free gas. Use some kind of fuel stabilizer.

Rodents can be a big problem over time and get into everywhere!

Remove all trash and food from car.
