Have a 99 Camry LE with power driver's seat. Forward and backward motion of seat is not working correctly. Need a new seat track but cost is prohibitive considering age of car. Looking at over $2000 for a new seat track with labor, and $700-800 for a used one if I can find it. Would like to swap out the power seat for a manual seat that is available in a local salvage yard but concerned there may be hidden problems/surprises. Is it fairly straight forward - just take out the old power seat and disconnect the power plugs and install the manual seat?

 

For others interested.

The only concern in swapping to a manual seat is if it has a built-in airbag.

The seat is easily removed in 15 minutes.
