Default Noob Water pump removal 94 5SFE

This is the first Toyota I have laid a wrench on. So what could be holding water pump to block after rad hose and bypass are removed? aut0z0ne showed 3 bolts in order and remove two idlers. Saw 4th after lower idler removed and counter sunk Phillips head top front. Time to get mirror and start looking. Drop a hint if I do not have wp in hand I will be back shortly.

The pump is bolted to a housing that attaches to the block.

You can remove the pump from the housing still on the block via the bolts on the front of the pump. Forget how many. See photo below for a front view of pump.

Gates Manufacturer Info

If your attempting to remove both housing and pump you need to unbolt the bypass pipe fitting on the back of the housing. Get that mirror out.

If you do remove the housing make sure you replace the seals between the housing and pipes.
