Please help!! My engine just started making a kind of rattling noise. Hard to explain. What could this be? It doesn't make the sound as much when first started as well as at higher RPMs. Any thoughts? My camry has about 107,000 miles on it. Always changed oil and filter every 3-5k.

Use a section of hose as a stethoscope to narrow down the area of the noise.

If a 4-cylinder, the timing chain can rattle due to tensioner wear, the serpentine belt tensioner or the VVTi camshaft sprocket can start to make noise.
