Unhappy Car phone pickup is poor - Help

I have a 2008 Camry with the in-dash bluetooth microphone system that allows me to link my cell phone to the car stereo system and use it as the microphone and speaker for my cell phone.

However, when I am talking to people using the system the car microphone system pick up is bad and people have a very hard time understanding what I am saying.

Is there any way to improve the quality of the pickup for the microphone so that the system becomes usable?

I've got an 07 with the bluetooth. The only problem I've had with mine is that you absolutely cannot talk while the other person is talking. They will not hear the first part of your sentence. I also keep the speaker volume down while using, don't know if that helps. Other than that I've been complemented on how clear it sounds and that it sounds like I'm talking directly with the cell. Sorry I couldn't suggest anything of real help.

Also here, I got 07 with a bluetooth, I just adjust the sounds or the volume to hear to the other person I'm talking to.I'm planning to return it this weekend.

Default Car phone pickup is poor - Help

I just bought a 2010 Camry with the same cell phone system. I can hear the caller over my stereo speakers crystal clear, but the sound at the other end of the call is terrible. I contacted my dealer service department and they told me that was normal for this installation and that there was nothing they could do about it. I imagine that the problem must be with a poor microphone, but I have to use my own bluetooth instead, so that my callers can understand what I am saying.
