Default 2014 Camry Noise

Hi,

I have been looking around and couldn’t find a good answer to this noise that recently started happening.

There is this high screeching noise that seems like it’s coming out of front passenger side when accelerating. It doesn’t happen every time but does have frequently. I took off the wheels and took a look but can’t seem to find anything that seems off. I did replace the brake pads (no rotors) couple months ago. CV axle looks find and not leaking. Do you think rotor needs to be replaced? I’ll try to add a video here for reference.

Thanks!

Is the noise only when moving as perhaps its a slipping engine belt?

Check if the brake backing splash plate is rubbing on the caliber. If anywhere close to the rotor bend it out of the way to get more clearance or just bend it out of the way for cheap insurance..

Backing plates can make strange noises as in no noise when turning or in reverse or the noise get louder or softer. The solution is just to bend the plate out more rather then spend time checking, guessing, etc.

Also check if for some reason the brake pad wear indicator noise making tab is rubbing against the rotor.

Thanks for the response!

It only makes the noise when the car is moving; especially when accelerating from a stop, but still drives normal. I tested to see if it made the noise when turning the wheels but doesn't make any noise.

I will check the brake splash and the clearance as well as the brake pads when I get the chance. Hopefully that is the issue and easy fix.

Will update if I find anything. Thanks again!
