Default 235 tires on 2007 SE factory wheels?

It's time to upgrade my wife's tires. 2007 Camry SE onstock wheels.22,000 miles and the Toyos are starting to show their wear bars.

I'm considering Yokohama S.drive tires. They come in 3 sizes: the factory size 215/55R17 , 225/50R17 , and 235/50R17. The 225/50's are 2% smaller in diamaterthan the 215/55. The 235/50's are exactly the same diameter as the 215's.

Have any of you tried fitting 235/50R17 tires on the factory SE wheels (17x7.0) ? Got pics?

235/50R17's can apparently fit 6.5-8.5" rim widths. I'm not sure if I want to try squeezing those onto the factory 17x7.0 wheels, but the extra dry traction would be nice.

Would love to see pics if anybody's tried 235/50R17 on the factory 2007+ Camry SE wheels.

Thanks!
J.

Default Anyone?

I have the same question...has anyone experimented with this tire size on their SE? Or, if not...can anyone with 235 or wider tires comment on rubbing?

Hi. You need to go here and use the tire size calculator to determine the safety of the size difference. It is recommended that you do not exceed a 3% difference in diameter. Tire Size Calculator - tire & wheel plus sizing
