Default Brake noise

Hi I have a 98 camry conquest V6. mileage is 170000kms. I recently serviced my car and replaced the brake pads. These days when I push / release brake it makes a screech type noise. If I push the brake hard or relase quickly noise does not happen. It is very bothering.
Any idea?
thanks

Suggest an internet search on brake squeal.

Several things are done to try to limit brake squeal including application of a brake grease between the back of the pads, shims and caliper parts.

Do you reuse the shims that go behind the pads?

Some brands of pads are noisier then others, suggest Toyota brand.

Try braking in the pads by making a few hard stops to heat them up.

Did you turn or replace the rotors? Might try sand paper to knock the glaze off the rotors.
