frontend shakes and raddels
my 97 toyo camry has a bad shake in the front and noise when i go over bumps i was told that i need a new rack can anyone give me some input to this matter also i noticed that the steering wheel is not striaight when im going straight

The noise and shake could be two different issues.
Did whomever stated you needed a new rack look over the car suspension and steering, then narrow in on the rack?
If not, could also be: worn out tie rod ends-there are two on each side coming off the steering rack arm and there is a U-Joint at the end of the steering column shaft. You can see this joint if you look down between the engine and firewall, drivers side.
Or could be some suspension part but this would not account for the steering wheel being off.
Raise the front end of the car up. Grasp each tire at the 3 and 9 o'clock position and shake, check for excess play.
The upper strut mounts, sway bar bushings and links go bad and make noise when going over bumps.
If it is the rack is it time consuming to replace, guessing $600 at a shop.
