its better if u replace performance shock at same time....becasue lower spring will kill ur stock shock faster........if u replace with performance shock it will last longer than the stock shock.....and u will save labor to do it once

If you have the means, do it all at once, especially if your stock struts/shocks have a lot of miles on them. You can leave the stock ones on but they will wear out faster on a lowered car. If they have a lot of miles, you'll save money, as was just mentioned, by only having the suspension disassembled/reassembled once. I just hope they come up with stuff for my '07 quickly. I'm already having to go with a tire and wheel combo that's not as wide as I want, and doesn't fill up the wheel well without "gap." I also don't want lowering springs. They looked good on my old '02 Nissan Spec V, but they felt like crap on any sort of bump. I had 18"s with 215/40 tires. I have 18's on my Camry now, but I'll probably stick with a 45 series tire to get a little more shock absorption.

TRDCAMRYGRACIA - What size wheels and tires do you have on? 19"s?

Replace both at once. The factory shocks are designed for a spring with a factory spring rate. Changing the springrate with a new spring is not a good idea, nor is it safe. Buy shocks.

Get New:
1. Shocks KYB GR2 s $309 at Shox.com
2. KYB Strut mounts $104 pair at Tirerack.
3. Tein Stechs about $248 from ebay Powerseller

I did this 3 weeks ago. My car feels like 2007 in fact this set up feels similar if not better than my Lexus GS400.

*new strut mounts are essential here because your current Strut Mount Bearings up front are shot. If you do take them apart and try to reuse them with just new Struts and Springs, you will hear louder CLUNKS, Thumps, Squeaks. Clanks than you already over pot holes.

It really is amazing that I go over bumps in the road...and it is complete silence like when I first had the car New.
