90k
When I brake suddenly, it seems that the front passenger strut dips too easily and bounces back too much. I have driven mostly older TOYs so I don't know if 90k is too many miles on original struts or not on this 98. In a bumper-oscillation test there doesn't seem to be excessive bounce but is 90k too many miles on OEM struts? I don't have cupping...yet.
The front passenger side has rattle which made me think strut mount, but what's weird is that the rattle is only there on cold days and goes away after the vehicle warms up. Could it still be strut mount?
Do I have to take the rear seat out to do the rear struts?
While I'm at it, this vehicle has original spark plugs and fuel filter. What's your opinion on these components' durability?
Thanx guys!

Bump.

Do you have to take out the back seats to do the rear struts?
Has anyone experienced rattling from strut mounts?
What are the best replacement brands for F/R strut inserts?
Are the mounts dealer-only?

Did you test the rear struts, could also be the rear struts are worn out.
Supposedly struts are worn out at around 50K miles, still many function Ok for a lot longer. Would think in terms of how the suspension on this car is working.
Check the suspension over for worn out bushings, etc.
Camry's have a problem with the sway bar bushings wearing out. The result is a knocking, squeaking or rattle typically when going over bumps and potholes.
The rubber in the upper strut mounts can also deteriorate resulting a knocking noise when going over bumps.
Rarely the sway bar link makes noise.
There are aftermarket upper strut mounts available. KYB makes them among others. The front Toyota brand mounts do not come with the bearing, the KYB do.
The back seat and deck need to be removed to access the upper strut mount nuts.
Not up on struts might review posts at the Toyotanation website for this.
Check out the RockAuto site for parts. Also www.1sttoyotaparts.com genuine Toyota parts at discount prices.
If OEM plugs they should last at least 100K but check the owners manual. Sometimes 80K is recommended for emissions purposes.
The can fuel filter rarely plugs up, you would know it by the engine not having full power. The can filter can also be very difficult to remove due to super tight fuel line fittings! The result can be a twisted fuel line. Suggest not to deal with it unless you really know it needs replacing, which most likely it does not.

I can see how some stereotypes might be attached to guys with long hair - hippies, metalheads, or metrosexuals - but I love being able to run my hands through his hair, and I think he looks great with it. The only downsides are that both of us end up getting our hair pulled in certain physical situations, but that's not nearly enough to convince him he needs a haircut =)
