1997 Camry LE Auto transmission 4 cylinder engine 179,000 miles. Just replaced the 4 struts (Monroe Quick Struts) due to age and mileage (about 70,000 since last change). Steering is still not as firm as I would like and the ball joints/bushings are original. Is it feasible to just go ahead and replace each of these due to mileage and age? Since I don't have a press I'm going to replace items like the control arms/ball joints as a unit. I priced out this part and it's almost the same cost as finding someone to press these. What brands should I consider? I've seen Dorman, Moog, Duralast (AutoZone), Rare Parts ,TRW, Driveworks, Autopart, and Beck/Arnley.

Not sure the steering will ever feel firm on this car. What might make a bigger difference is tires.

Suggest before replacing any suspension parts to inspect them.

Ball joints should have no free play when checked pry with a bar.

Check the tie rod ends, there is one swivel joint on each side of the steering rod that connects the rack to the knuckle.

Inspect the control arm bushings, try moving the arm forward and back.

The rear suspension is made of links and bushings. Take a firm grip on the tire at the 3 and 9 o'clock position and move it to check for play.

Check that there is no excessive movement in the sway bar bushings and end links.

Have used Dorman, Moog, Beck/Arnley. I tend to stay away from AutoZone or chain store parts for quality issues.

I have a 2015 SQ4 Ghibli and the front end is low. I can tell the suspension needs repair because the stock jack that the car comes with doesn’t fit under the car into the jack points, even with the tires fully inflated. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Is it potentially a height sensor issue or potentially the air suspension as a whole?
