RE: The Paint Job
If you are willing to spend the cash avoid Maaco or any other chain paint outlet.
Start asking around for a body and paint shop that does good work or a custom car shop then vist the sites, look at the shop and equipment and talk with the shop personal.
Shops that do quality work are proud of what they do and will be able to give you the latest on equipment and paints they use plus of course cost. A good paint job is not cheap so be ready for sticker shock. Today paint and solvent costs alone are very high.
Not up on colors, darker colors tend to fad over time. Metalics are much more difficult or impossible to match after an accident unless extending the repaint over a large section. If leaving the car outdoors suggest a lighter color.
Maaco can do a decent job if you do all the prep work and find a painter that does good work and specify that this person do the job.
One more thing, if you can't afford a decent paint job and the OEM paint job looks OK, suggest to just leave things alone. Have seen too many bad paints jobs (some with paint coming off) with the owners wishing they had not painted that car at all.
