Window regulator/motor seperation??
Subject: Window regulator/motor assembly from a 92 SXV10 LE 4-door.
Swapped out the regulator assembly on the front drivers door, because the "center" plastic retainer that holds the 2 cable ends broke & 1 of the cable ends "escaped". Installed a used assembly, all is good.
On the old assembly, can the regulator/cable assembly be easily seperated from the motor??? Motor on this is still good, just that the regulator is garbage. Possible that the motor can be salvaged, or is the entire assembly now garbage????
Yes, I've already used the search button. Do I need to look harder???
I do have the 92 TSRM. No instructions on how to take apart the regulator assembly, just instructions on how to R&R it from the door.
My backround: In case nobody saw my posting in the new members section, I have a "Supra" backround (have a 81 MA47 1st Gen Celica Supra & a 85 MA61 2nd Gen Celica Supra). On both of these window regulators, the motor cannot be seperated from regulator assembly, they both have the old fashion "large coil spring" that will permanently unwind if you attempt to seperate the motor from the regulator. Since this is a cable setup, I was wondering if this was easier.
TIA
