08 Camry SE - JBL 6 disc changer & ASL question
I just picked up my 2008 Camry SE. I apologize for these questions asI couldn't find a thread on them...
I have the JBL sound system and 6 disc CD changer radio system. The manual says to press the random key to playrandom tracs ontheselectedCD. Which it does. It says torandomly play tracs/discs then hold in the random key until it beeps. When I do this the multiple disc appears in the display but itstill randomly plays tracs on the same CD.My dealer says thatit randomly plays all the tracs on 1 CD before switching to the next. My player has randomly played all the tracs one 1 CDand still didn't switch.Does anyone know if this feature will actually randomlyswitch CD's?
Also, the radiohas the ASL(Automatic Sound Levelizer)that adjusts the radio volume depending on vehicle speed.Mine doesn't seem to work.I have it selectedto "on", but thevolume does not raise/lower.My dealer says thatthe sound level is soslight that you can't notice it. My friends have non-Toyota vehicles with this feature and you can clearly hear the volume difference while driving. Is there a trick to getting this to work?
Thank you for your help,

Simply- the ASL will increase the volume as speed increases, you have "low-medium'high" settings, that is not related to volume but the music pitch you want to eccentuate....I simple turn the damn thing off...it gets annoying to me
I too have experienced the ASL thing. It's on, but I don't hear any volume adjustment even going from 0 to 70. As for the changer, it will either random one disc or all discs. Holding in the button changes it from single disc random to all disc random. I have noticed that if it is on all disc random and you select next it will go to the next track on the current disc and not the next track on the next random disc. Very peculiar.
