Default 1997 Camry radio help

I need to replace my audio unit. Can I replace with a unit from a 2002 or newer camry or do I have to stay with 1997-2001. TIA

I suggest the better option is a newer Camry. It would be a good decision.

If the radio connection in the back is same then may be you should try to connect it to see if works. I had done that on a couple of older models of Previas. I was not very successful with my Sienna since it had a premium sound system and therefore had different radio connection.
