Default MAIN FUSE KEEPS BLOWIN FOR SYSTEM

Hey guys im having a major problem with this, so i use to have a Kicker Zx750.1 amp with the Kicker 12" L7 everything works great no problem. So i recently upgraded to the kicker zx1000.1 amp with a 15" L7 and everytime i would go hook up the positive wire back to the battery the main fuse would blow for the system. I must have been through 3, 100 ANL Fuses. HELP ME PLEASE!

Where are you drawing power from? For that amp, you should have, at a minimum, 8 guage wire running directly from the battery back to your amp. You also need to make sure the cable is fused at the battery. If it's hooked into 12 volt power at some other point, then it's pulling waaaaaayyyy too much current thru that main fuse.
Also, how do you have the amp grounded? A poor ground on something that's drawing lots of power like that can do some mighty weird stuff.
You might also want to check that the amp is functioning properly. Have someone at the local car audio shop put it on the bench and verify that it's not drawing a massive amount of power because of some defect.

Hope that helps.

Blackcam... Here is your solution... if your running 4 guage you need a bigger fuse 100ANL is too small... run a 120 or 150... secondly... check your power wire to make sure it isnt cut anywhere and grounding out... that will cause a blow out as well... Secondy make sure that their is no frays near the bat terminal.

As Far as defects... I doubt it only because Kicker generlaly does amazing work with their amps... THe last thing i would suggest is that if you still blow your fuse after this.. You really might want to consider running new wire because clearly their is a break in your line somwhere causing it to short out

im running 4ga with a 80 ANL fuse.. work perfect.. but check all your fuse and ground to make its hooked up to a good ground.

If its not the draw on the fuse that is blowing it then there is definitely some sort of grounding going on in the wire... From what i understand there shouldnt be a problem with that fuse even if its a 100ANL because i have even run 60ANL on 1kw and it never blew... Definiteyl some grounding going on somewhere... Check your wires!!!
