Hi, noob here and need some fast help. My girlfriend has a 96 Camry and her battery went dead last night. I swapped batteries and now the radio is calling for a code?????. Of course she doesn't know the code and I was curious if anyone could help me out please. Its just the stock tape, no CD.

Look for a code on the bottom of the tape player.If there isn't one there try contacting toyota,they will tell you how to bypass it.All cd players that have a code will require it to be entered once a battery is disconected.My kenwood does it everytime.

 

Thinking back now it is possible that that tape player won't work again.IF you don't have a code set then it can't be used unless toyota reprograms it.

 

Thats not true of all cd players its common in kenwood but many brands do not use that feture as sometimes its more of a hassle than a good thing.
