I'm a bit of a hobbyist when it comes to anything audio and electronics on cars and trucks and I run a little side hustle doing installs on my days off. Stereos, subs, remote start, tint, etc.

I had this young lady contact me about her base model 21 Camry and she wants remote start. That's easy enough, there are plenty of companies that make plug and play kits for it. But she also hates having to turn a key to start the car. Seems pretty silly to me, but I prefer a key. So ultimately she wants a push button start, but at the very least remote start.

My question is, has anyone retrofitted push button start into a key start Camry of that generation?


P.s. I'm a big fan of Camry's. I wish I would've bought one of those instead of this POS 17 Chevy Cruze I have now. I kick myself every time I see a TRD Camry in the wild.

 

Try asking/researching at Toyotanation.com. Larger site, more members and covers all Toyota. The push to start system should be more or less the same between Toyota models thus info on another model might be helpful.
