2000 Camry P0305 Error Code
Hi, I am getting a P0305 code on mt 2000 Camry 6 cyl engine, It's a misfire on cyl. 5, I have changed the wires and checked the plugs which are good. the car has 52000 miles on it. Does anyone know which Cyl # 5 is. can anybody help.

Cylinder # 5 is the cylinder closest to the left side of the vehicle that is in the rear bank underneath the plennum. Misfires can be caused by may things (plug, wire, fuel, compression, etc...). Check for injector operation and swap the plug from #5 to #3 and see if the miss is still coming from #5 or not. If it misfires in #3, it's the plug. If it stays in #5 than it's a problem with the injector or the compression.

You're coil is more likely the suspect over an injector and is easier to test for. Swap coil that fires #5 cylinder with one of the neighboring coils and drive the vehicle until the check engine light comes on again. If the misfire code follows the coil- then you have a bad coil. This is by far the most common cause of misfire on the Camry V6.

Is that a misfire? P0305 Code - Cylinder #5 Misfire, A P0305 code means that the the car's computer has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not firing properly.
I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Code P0305
Hi Again, I switched coils as recomended, I switched the center coil with the right side coil, Ran the car for a week before I got a bad code, Now the code is P0302 which is Cyl # 2, I don't know the firing order of this engine, I am guessing that the coil I put in the center position is the bad one? Does anyone know which coil fires which Cyl.
Thanks
