Unhappy 2012 Camry LE Headlight problem

Hi everyone!

I desperately need help. I recently bought an LED H11 kit form Amazon and installed the lights to my 2012 Toyota Camry LE. It seemed to show no problems at all. The next day when I started the car, there was a short delay, but it turned on and after driving for about 5 minutes, the car started acting erratically:
1. The power steering went out with the dashboard displaying the problem.
2. The radio went out.
3. The battery warning light came on.4. Then all the warning lights came on and the car eventually shut completely off.
Luckily, I was right next to an Autozone and I pulled in. The battery was dead only clicking. The battery was just replaced less than 6 months ago. One of the guys at Autozone gave me a jump and I was able to start the car with the battery warning on, but everything was back to normal. When I was about to leave the parking lot, the same thing happened?

Has this happened to anyone? What are some possible solutions? I cannot find this problem posted anywhere, which is the reason why I am reaching out. PLEASE help!! THanks!

If the problems started after installing the headlights then suggest this may be the place to start checking for issues. Perhaps the replacement lights are drawing too much current which is straining the electrical system.

Low voltage can cause many of your problems.

Have you checked the alternator for current output and voltage?

Any other car extras that would take more current such as an aftermarket stereo amplifier?

Do the new lights incorporate daytime running lights which are constantly on?

Any chance the lights are not turning off or they are causing an electrical drain when the car is parked?

Get a volt/amp meter. Check battery voltage after the car has sat a few hours after driving. Determine if the battery has low voltage. Should be something around 12.6-12.8v

Then start engine and rev to 2000 rpm and check again. Voltage should now be around 14-15v as the alternator is charging. Turn on headlights with engine running and check voltage again at engine idle. Determine if the voltage is dropping significantly.

I have a voltmeter coming later today that I ordered. The crazy thing is, I replaced the headlight bulbs back to original and it's still the same problem?? I removed the led bulbs which also had drivers attached to them as well. None of the problems started until I put in the led bulbs, which is why took them right back out.

Tried voltmeter and everything is dead. Had this happened to anyone before due to led headlights? I never would have tried.

Every thing is dead?

The battery has zero volts?

Is the battery to dead to start the car?

If the engine starts and you measure the battery voltage at 2000 rpm, what is this voltage? It has to be at least battery voltage.

The cars alternator may have failed.

Post a link to the LED lights to get the exact model.

Perhaps the car was having minor electrical issues and the LED installation exacerbated the issue.. Did you ever jump start the battery. If so this can also cause electrical problems.

Here's the link to the LED lights that I ordered:
SEALIGHT H11/H8/H9 LED Bulbs X1 Series 12 CSP Chips 14000LM 6000K Xenon White Non-polarity
Amazon Amazon
Volt meter showed under 9 then after rechecking, it constantly went lower and lower. Take into consideration, no problems at all with the car until I installed the LED lights.

If the battery warning light is on there is a problem with the charging system. This is confirmed by the voltmeter not showing a battery voltage of 14-15v at 2000 RPM.

Start by checking for blown fuses.

Get the alternator checked out.

Low car voltage can also cause all kinds of electrical problems..

Not sure what happened with the LED installation. The result appears to be a problem with the alternator, a blown fuse or such that is preventing the battery from being charged.
