from experience
radio code security can be lost

if your radio has this type of anti theft feature
.make sure you have the numbers in hand and instructions how to re enter

.

4-Cylinder?

If so the computer will need to relearn engine idle and trans shifting patterns.

All radio settings will be lost.

If your cleaver you can connect a small jumper wire between the plus battery terminal and the cable terminal before disconnecting. Or install a trickle charger on the plus cable terminal and negative battery terminal or connect to chassis ground.

Over time the computer will relearn on its own. Mean time the idle may be rough, engine have performance and shift problems. Sometimes the throttle body needs to be cleaned to get the idle OK.

You can't find a section of wire? It need not be a jumper cable as your not going to start the engine. The amperage will be much less then one amp.
